Gigaquit, Surigao del Norte – The Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) team of Surigao del Norte Province continuously endeavoring the delivery of basic services through launching of Serbisyo Caravan and Information Drive held at Multipurpose Hall of Barangay Dugsangon, Bacuag, Surigao del Norte on March 11, 2021.
The Caravan aims to aid information to the populace relative to peace and development programs of the Government including the delivery of services such as medical check-ups and consultations, circumcision, haircut, provision of hygiene kits and grocery packed items benefitting four (4) recipient Barangays namely; Payapag, Camboayon, Sta Rosario and Dugsangon all from Bacuag town.
The program was spearheaded by the Provincial Director of the Department of Interior and Local Government Unit, Mr. John Reyl L Mosquito together with the Provincial Governor’s Office headed by the Assistant Provincial Administrator, Mr. Ramon M Gotinga and the Local Government Unit of Bacuag headed by Mayor Felicisimo Cebedo.
Said recipient Barangays were among the areas where the teams of Community Support Program (CSP) from 30th Infantry Battalion were deployed in 2020 and were validated cleared from the CNT influences and are eventually enrolled for the RCSP of the Provincial Government of Surigao del Norte.
During the activity, the participants from the four (4) recipient Barangays were informed by the DILG that they were included as beneficiaries of the Twenty Million Pesos (Php 20,000,000.00) budget for Barangay Development Program (BDP) implementation this year. Under the BDP, the 20 Million Pesos is given to every cleared barangay from CNT influence for interventions programs and construction of needed infrastructures such as farm-to-market road, water and sanitation systems, and for the installation of solar lights in the barangays. Necessary to propel progress and development in the area.
The activity was also participated by the different line agencies of the government including the Army’s 901ST Infantry Brigade and 30th Infantry Battalion, Department of Health, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Social Welfare and Development Office and Rotary Club of Surigao Chapter.
“I personally expressed my deepest gratitude to the Provincial Government of Surigao del Norte for those services delivered and to the Philippine Army specially the CSP Team of 30IB who devoted their time and efforts for the maintenance of Peace and Order in our Municipality” Mayor Cebedo said.
Lt Col Ryan Charles G Callanta, the Commanding Officer of 30IB said “The RCSP is one of the national government’s mechanism in implementing the Whole-of-Nation Approach to peacefully end the local armed conflict by ensuring the delivery of basic services by the government and the entry of development and progress such as but not limited to infrastructure projects and livelihood programs necessary to propel the economy of these validated cleared areas from the influence of the CNTs. Activity as such, is a clear manifestation that the whole of the government approach is rolling in this part of the country”.
