23IB Supports Unilever, PNP in Hygiene Kit Distribution Activity

BUENAVISTA, Agusan del Norte – The 23rd Infantry (Masigasig) Battalion (23IB), took part in the BARANGAYanihan program of the Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office (ADN-PPO), Police Community Affairs Division Unit (PCAD Unit), in partnership with Unilever Philippines held on Saturday, 05 June 2021 at the coastal area of Barangay Sacol, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte.

The activity was joined by Carl Christopher P. Loquias, the Mindanao Manager of Unilever Philippines, together with PLt.Col Yeelyne L. Saligumba, Chief of PCAD Unit, and 2Lt. Angel Grace M. Sebelina (INF) PA, Acting Civil-Military Operations Officer (CMO) of 23IB.

The Unilever Philippines sought the assistance of the 23IB and ADNPPO to facilitate the distribution of hygiene kits to the less fortunate residents affected by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. The hygiene kits were distributed to the doorsteps of every household in the area in strict compliance with COVID 19 protocols.

Lt. Col. Julius Cesar C. Paulo, the commander of 23IB expressed gratitude to the troopers, the PNP personnel and to the Unilever Philippines for the efforts they exhibited in the distribution of the hygiene kits direct to the residences of the beneficiaries.

“We greatly appreciate the Unilever Philippines for these hygiene kits and for the company’s desire to reach out to the less fortunate families amidst the continuing threat of the pandemic,” Paulo said.

He assured the Unilever Philippines of the unit’s commitment in future undertakings should the company decides to extend more help to the affected families in Agusan del Norte and to the other areas under the jurisdiction of 23IB.

“The 23IB is also deeply involved in various humanitarian activities in its areas of jurisdiction, especially during these times of the health crisis. Together with the PNP, we are always ready to assist and join you in future endeavors,” Paulo said.
