Army Honors Victims of C-130 Crash in Bukidnon

IMPASUGONG, BUKIDNON – Two fallen soldiers who died in the latest C-130 crash at Patikul, Sulu are now being given wake services by the troops of the 8th Infantry “Dependable” Battalion (8IB) under the 403rd Infantry “Peacemaker” Brigade, 4th Infantry “Diamond” Division (4ID), Philippine Army.

Upon the arrival of the cadavers of Pvt Mel Mark Angana, 26, resident of Brgy. Maligaya, Malaybalay City and Pvt Marcelino Alquisar, 26, a resident of Brgy. Poblacion, Impasugong, Bukidnon yesterday, July 8, 2021, the 8IB immediately assigned vigil guards and gave wreaths and goods to the bereaved families of both soldiers.

Amalia Angana, mother of the late Pvt Angana, emotionally expressed her gratitude and said, “Tuod sakit ang nahitabo nga kalit nga kamatayon sa akoang anak apan ako nagahatag og dakong pagpasalamat sa 8IB ug 4ID tungod sa paspas nila nga paghatag og tabang kanamo. Wala pa ang patay’ng lawas sa akong anak apan anaa na sila dinhi sa balay aron mohatag og tabang. Bisag layo ang amoang panimalay apan todo suporta ang kasundalohan. Daghang Salamat.” (The sudden death of my son is very painful but I am still thankful to 8IB and 4ID for their immediate action and assistance. Even though the remains of my son haven’t arrived at our home but they are already present to give assistance. Even though we live far from the City, still, the soldiers are giving their all-out support. Thank you very much.)

LTC Edgardo Talaroc Jr, Commander 8IB said that, “Kami padayun nga mohatag og tabang sa pamilya ni Pvt Angana ug Pvt Alquisar nga gisakripisyo ang ilang kinabuhi alang sa nasud. Kami nagahatag og dakong pahasubo sa pamilya ug kami nag-ampo alang sa mga kalag sa namatay nga sila makabaton og kalinaw ug sila mahimong malipayon kauban ang labaw’ng makagagahom.” (8IB will continue to give assistance to the family of late Pvt Angana and late Pvt Alquisar who sacrificed their lives in order to serve the country. We are extending our deepest sympathies to them and we offer our prayers to the souls of our dead soldiers that they may rest in peace and they may find eternal happiness now that they are with our Almighty creator.)

It can be recalled that the said soldiers were included in the C-130 mishap at Patikul, Sulu last July 4, 2021.
