AFP-NPA clash yields firearms and food supplies in Bukidnon

IMPASUGONG, BUKIDNON – Troops of the 2nd Scout Ranger Battalion and the 8th Infantry (Dependable) Battalion, Philippine Army were able to seize two (2) high-powered firearms and food supplies after an encounter at the hinterlands of Sitio Nahawan, Barangay Busdi, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon last January 16, 2021.

The soldiers received reports from concerned citizens that there were CPP-NPA Terrorists (CNT) roaming around asking for food when the encounter transpired. After a 15-minute gun battle, government troops were able to seize one M16 A1 Rifle, one modified R4, eight backpacks, eight ponchos, four sacks of rice, two backpacks pancit udong, and one backpack of sardines.

LTC Anthony Bacus, Commander 8IB said that, “Kami nagapasalamat sa mga nagpakabang katawhan tungod ang ilang gihatag nga taho miresulta sa malampuson natong pagpakgang sa dautang gimbuhaton sa mga teroristang NPA. Kini nagpamatuod nga wala nay sibilyan nga nagasuporta kanila.” (We are thankful to the concerned citizens because their report resulted in successfully preventing the atrocities of the CNTs. This is proof that they don’t have mass supporters anymore.)

“Kami magpadayun nga magpahigayon sa among operasyon alang sa kalinaw ug kalambuan sa nasud maong ang panawagan namo sa nahibilin pang mga CNT nga mosurrender na ug pahimuslan ang Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) alang sa ilang kinabuhing malinawon,” Bacus ended (We will continue in conducting operations in order to us to attain long-lasting peace and sustainable development which is why we urge the remaining CNTs to surrender and avail of the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) for your peaceful life.)
