CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City – Secretary Delfin M Lorenzana of Department of National Defense (DND) spearheaded the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Construction of Camp Evangelista Station Hospital (CESH) and the Inauguration and Blessing of the new 4ID Administration Building on Wednesday, February 2, at Camp Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City.
The two (2) projects are under the DND-DPWH Convergence Program dubbed as Tatag ng Imprastraktura para sa Kapayapaan at Seguridad (TIKAS) worth P232 million purposely to improve the facilities of the AFP under the present administration’s Build, Build, Build program.
Sec. Lorenzana bared that the TIKAS program is a trailblazing inter-agency convergence which complements the AFP’s modernization program by rehabilitating and establishing infrastructural resources for military camps.
“The TIKAS program goes a long way in reaffirming the sacrifice and boosting the morale of our soldiers. Thus, giving our defenders comfortable homes, functional offices, training centers and medical facilities. I am thankful to our President Rodrigo Roa Duterte dahil hindi nawawaglit sa isip ng pangulo ang sakripisyo ng ating mga sundalo para bantayan ang kalayaan, kaligtasan at demokrasya ng bansa,” Sec. Lorenzana said.
Meanwhile, AFP Chief of Staff General Andres Centino stated that with the construction of said facilities, better health care services will be expected and these becomes the new bastion of higher professionalism and excellence for the Diamond troopers. He added that it will certainly improve the working and living conditions of the officers, enlisted personnel and civilian human resource that will surely boost their morale and do their best in performing their respective duties and responsibilities.
In a statement, BGen Wilbur C Mamawag thanked the DND and AFP leadership to include the DPWH for the continued support in improving the 4ID facilities which will motivate the soldiers in fulfilling the 4ID’s mandated mission of attaining lasting peace and sustainable development in Northern Mindanao and Caraga regions.
Present also during the event were Undersecretary Eugenio R Pipo Jr, DPWH Undersecretary for Regional Operations for Mindanao together with Director Zenaida Tan, Regional Director DPWH Region 10, Director Mylah Faye Aurora Carino, Regional Director NEDA Region 10, and Lieutenant General Romeo S Brawner Jr, Commanding General, Philippine Army.
