4ID joins Walk for Peace, Peace Covenant Signing for a safe and orderly Elections in Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental

CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City – The 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division participated in the “Walk for Peace and Peace Covenant Signing” held on March 1, at Kiosko Kagawasan, Divisoria, Cagayan de Oro City. The event was also joined by other government agencies, religious groups and candidates.

Colonel Michele Anayron Jr, 4ID’s Assistant Division Commander for Retirees and Reservist Affairs, who represented 4ID, reiterated the Command’s commitment to safeguarding the ballot and ensuring an honest and peaceful elections.

Among the highlights of the activity was the Inter-faith prayers offered by the religious groups, followed by the releasing of white doves as a symbol of solidarity. After which, the Commission on Elections gave orientation briefing to remind the candidates on election guidelines.

On February 28, BGen Ferdinand Barandon of 403Bde also attended the same activity at the Sports Complex, El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental.

In a statement, 4ID Commander, MGen Wilbur C Mamawag, assured the general public that 4ID will remain apolitical and be one with the people in seeing this elections through.
