“Simultaneous Unity Walk, Interfaith Rally, Candidates Briefing and Peace Covenant Signing held in Bukidnon”

CAMP OSITO D BAHIAN, Malaybalay City – A simultaneous unity walk, interfaith rally, candidates briefing and peace covenant signing were conducted today, March 18 at this City.

The activity commence with the Unity walk from Plaza Rizal Park to Camp Ramon Onahon, Barangay 7 of this town at exactly 8:00 o’clock in the morning participated by the Philippine National Police headed by Police Brigadier General Ronaldo R Cabral, DRDA Region X; Engr. Carmelo Enrique B Libot, CESO V, Provincial Director, DILG Bukidnon; Atty. Emanuelle A Ebarle, Acting City Election Officer, Valencia City Bukidnon; Police Colonel Jun Mark J Lagare, Provincial Director, PPO Bukidnon; Fr. Noel Laguna Jr. PPCRV Director, Diocese of Malaybalay City; Lieutenant Colonel Christian James P Vingno PA, Commanding Officer of 88IB; Lieutenant Colonel Anthony A Bacus PA, Commanding Officer of 88IB; Lieutenant Colonel Victor Czar T. Villanueva PA, of OG8, 4ID, candidates for local election; media entities and other stakeholders.

Major General Wilbur C Mamawag PA, Commander of 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division Philippine Army represented by Colonel Leo E Bongosia PA, the Officer In-Charge of 403rd Infantry (Peacemaker) Brigade in his message “Committing ourselves to having an honest, orderly, and peaceful election is one way of strengthening our partnership with the people and with God to attain lasting peace and development. The 4ID shall maintain the highest discipline and professionalism to accomplish the peace agreement. We will remain non-partisan and fair to all”.

“The signing of the peace covenant signifies our promise to make our election solemn and violence-free. But maintaining an Honest, Orderly, and Peaceful Election. Is not an easy task, that is why we need your cooperation to achieve the success of today’s peace signing. Furthermore, everyone must respect the rights of each other and strictly follow the guidelines set by the Comelec and other pertinent laws.

Our troops are capable and ready to comply with the mandate entrusted to us,as for combat and security operations, we will also continue to prevent the CTG’s intimididation and treat of Voters and Candidates. He also added that,
