4ID joins RJSCC to finalize preparations for May 2022 elections

CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan De Oro City – Less than three weeks before the May 9, 2022 elections, the 4th Infantry Division joined the PNP and COMELEC in ironing out preparations for a secure, accurate, free and fair elections (SAFE), during a separate Regional Joint Security Control Center (RJSCC) Command Conference for Northern Mindanao Region held on April 18, 2022 in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon and for Caraga Region held on April 21, 2022 in Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.

The RJJSC discussed matters pertaining to the updates on preparations, deployment of troops and contingency measures especially on hotspot areas. In a statement, 4ID Commander Maj. Gen. Wilbur C. Mamawag said that 4ID will work closely with the PNP and COMELEC to ensure that our deployment plan would effectively address all identified potential flash points, suppress any emerging threat and minimize disruptions in the conduct of elections. To this effect, the 4ID shall undertake security operations before, during and after the elections in adherence to COMELEC Resolutions.

“My Command has organized a Task Force SAFE, a special body created and solely dedicated for this purpose. While we perform our constitutional duty to help secure the electoral process, we also keep reminding our troops to observe professionalism and non-partisanship. I. therefore, assure the electorate of Northern Mindanao and CARAGA regions that the entire Joint Task Force Diamond fully supports every peaceful effort to protect the integrity of the ballot” Maj. Gen. Mamawag said.
