Malitbog, Bukidnon

MALITBOG, Bukidnon – Through the GMA Kapuso Foundation’s extended advocacy in far-flung communities, another partnership with the Philippine Army’s 16th Infantry (Maglilingkod) Battalion under 402nd Infantry (Stingers) Brigade and the Department of Education of Bukidnon for the forthcoming start of classes prospered with the successful handover of 1,654 school bags to grade school pupils of Malitbog and Impasugong, Bukidnon last July 18-20, 2022.

Said program dubbed “Unang Hakbang sa Kinabukasan” was aimed to provide educational supplies and hygiene kits for the kindergarten and grade 1 pupils as their startup for the coming school year, significantly reducing their expenses.

Hon. Gary Casiño, Municipal Mayor of Malitbog expressed his gratitude to the GMA foundation for having his municipality selected among the recipients of the project.

“Akong kinasingkasing na pagpasalamat sa GMA Kapuso Foundation sa ilang dakong tabang ug suporta sa among lungsod, hinaot na makahatag pa ta ug daghan pang mga programa sa Malitbog,” Casiño said.

Said school-opening project dedicated to underprivileged students has been running since 1996 to inspire children and promote education.

The 16th IB attributed the successful delivery of services to the “whole-of-nation” approach in which the local government units, other government agencies, and private stakeholders collaborate to venture for comprehensive and sustainable programs. As such, the unit commits its support to any humanitarian services to usher in development and progress within its area of responsibility.
