100 youths participate Youth Leadership Summit 2022 in CDO

CLAVERIA, Misamis Oriental- A total of 100 youths composed of 50 participants from Balingasag and 50 from Kinoguitan attended the Youth Leadership Summit 2022 at 10RCDG, Camp Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan de Oro on 25-27 November 2022.

The three-day leadership summit centered around several lectures and activities across the YLS, with the subject “Kabatan-onan. Paglaum,ug Kaugmaon para sa Malinawon nga Probinsya ug Komunidad.” That aims to unleash the leadership potential of these young people. The Role of Youth in the Community, Anti-Insurgency, Basic Life Support, Teenage Pregnancy, Mental Health Awareness, Drug Prevention, Leadership Principles, Skills and Development Training, Former Rebel Testimony and Team Building Activities, Gabi ng Kultura, and Socials Night organized in a military atmosphere which enabled the young leaders improve their camaraderie, solidarity, and teamwork. It also aims to instill in their minds the vital attributes of SERVANT-LEADERSHIP, LOVE for God, and LOVE for Country, as well as the importance of youth in nation-building.

The interaction and commitment of the Local Government Multi Sector offices on the basic services the government can offer them, particularly the Public Employment Service Office (PESO-10), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-10), the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO-10), the Department of Health (DOH-10), the Department of Trade Industry (DTI-10), Department of Agriculture (DA-10) and highlighting the economic success of youth entrepreneurs who are products of the Youth Leadership Summit, that will influence their future career path.

Students, SK leaders, and out-of-school youths ages 15 to 30 years old from Geographically Isolated Disadvantage Areas (GIDAS) and Conflict Affected Areas (ConAAs) barangays from the municipalities of Kinoquitan and Balingasag who are regarded vulnerable to deceptive recruitment of the CPP-NPA-NDF were the participants of the youth leadership summit 2022.

Meanwhile, Col. Michelle Anayron, ADC, RRA, 4ID, commended the Misamis Oriental provincial administration, led by Governor Peter M Unabia, for its unwavering support in ensuring success of the Youth Leadership Summit and the preservation of peace and order in the province. During the culmination program on November 27, 2022, Peter “Sr Peter M Unabia, Governor of Misamis Oriental, confirmed the youth graduates of this year’s Youth Leadership Summit.

POINTY Inc., the 58th Infantry “Dimalulupig” Battalion, the 4th Civil Military Operation Battalion of the 4th Infantry Division, in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of the Province of Misamis Oriental, led by Gov. Peter “Sr Peter” M Unabia, made this activity a success. Lt. Col. Reynald Romel A Goce, Assistant Chief of Staff for CMO, OG7, 4ID, Lt. Col. Christian Uy, Commander, 581B, and Junbert Laurente Jr., POINTY, Inc. Board of Trustees Chairman Misamis Oriental was also present.
