CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City – Major General Wilbur C Mamawag, 4ID Commander, urged the new soldiers of 4ID to contribute to the strengthening of E.O. 70 implementation or the institutionalization of the “whole of nation” approach to end local communist armed conflict in the country. He said this during the graduation rites of Candidate Soldier Course (CSC) Classes 726 and 727-2022 at Mindanao Army Training Group (MATG), Camp Kibaritan, Kalilangan, Bukidnon on November 9, 2022.
The 269 new privates successfully hurdled the 4-month Basic Military Training and will have to immediately undergo a 45-day Infantry Orientation Course (INFOC) at same training facility.
In his message, which was delivered by Col. Joel M. Paloma, the Assistant Division Commander, MGen. Mamawag congratulated the graduates for making the right decision of joining the noble profession of arms.
“We have a huge role to play in this campaign, in terms of preventing the CTG’s resurgence by exposing the CPP/NPA/NDF’s deceitful ways. I urge you therefore to put to good use all your MATG education by building relationships with conflict-affected communities and all stakeholders, in order to achieve unhampered inter-agency cooperation.” he added.
