2 CNTs surrender to Army in Surigao Sur

SAN MIGUEL, Surigao del Sur – One (1) CPP NPA Terrorist (CNT), member of SRSDG “Southland” and one (1) CO of  MB/Hikling, Lumpong 5 voluntarily surrendered with two (2) high-powered firearms to 75th Infantry “Marauder” Battalion on Saturday, May 6, 2023.

The NPA rebels identified as John Paul Loyola y Gavino alias KAYAN/ JEHO/ ELLY/ JEANY (PSRL) and Ruel Tawede y Rosaldo AKA ROCCO (NPSRL) brought with them one (1) 7.62mm M14 Rifle with defaced serial number and one (1)  Cal. 30 M1 Carbine with defaced serial number.

Alias KAYAN expressed his gratitude to 75IB and said, “Nagpasalamat ko sa 75IB ug sa akong mga kauban sa una ug naingganyo ko nga mu-surrender. Nahibaw-an nako nga dako ang maitabang sa 75IB sa ako. Unya gusto ko magsundalo para makatabang ko ug tinuod sa mga tao kung naay higayon.”

Moreover, these Former Rebels will be enrolled in the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) of the government as they will be receiving immediate cash and livelihood assistance as well as remuneration for the surrendered firearms.

“The 75IB is always here, ready to welcome and assist you to start living a new life in peace and harmony. The Philippine Army will never be tired of embracing those CNT members who are willing to surrender to the government.” Lt. Col. Molero said.

The Philippine Army in collaboration with every government agency has been implementing the campaign to end the insurgency through Executive Order No. 70 which is the Whole-Of-Nation Approach to End Local Communist Armed Conflict in attaining sustainable peace and development.
