4ID installs new Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, Division Provost Marshal

The 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division has installed the new Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, G3, and Division Provost Marshal (DPM) in a joint Change of Chiefs of Office Ceremony on Monday, June 19, presided by 4ID Commander Maj. Gen. Jose Maria R. Cuerpo II.

Lt. Col. Ricky L. Canatoy, who concluded his stint as the DPM, took the helm as the new G3, 4ID from Col. Estrellito P. Romero Jr., who is now assigned at the General Headquarters, Armed Forces of the Philippines in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City. Previously, Lt. Col. Canatoy also served as the Commanding Officer of the 58th Infantry Battalion in Claveria, Misamis Oriental, for more than two (2) years.

Col. Romero Jr., the former G3, received a Command Plaque for his invaluable contribution to the division’s campaign while exceptionally leading the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, G3.

Meanwhile, Col. Jezreel J. Diagmel formally assumed as the new Chief of the Office of the DPM. Prior to his assumption, he served as the Commanding Officer of the 36th Infantry Battalion, previously situated in Madrid, Surigao del Sur, and was subsequently reassigned to the Installation Management Command and General Headquarters, Philippine Army.

In his message, Maj. Gen. Cuerpo II put his trust and confidence to the newly-installed Chiefs of Office and vowed to fully support their capabilities to contribute to the growth of their respective offices and personnel.

The Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations is responsible in assisting the Commander on matters concerning operations, organization, CAFGU affairs, force integration, performance measurement and doctrines evaluation. While the ODPM is the office responsible for conducting investigations in relation to Discipline, Law, and Order (DLO) with a focus on the administrative liability of individuals.
