The 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division, in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development  (DSWD) Field Office 10, held a 3-Day Trauma Risk Management (TRiM) Trainers Training for CY 2023 held at 4ID Clubhouse, Camp Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City on June 19, 20, and 21, 2023.

Said activity was participated by the TRiM Team composed of 4 members from 4ID Brigades, Battalions, and Division Reconnaissance Companies as well as Headquarter’s Case Management Team, Chiefs of the Office of Ethical Standards and Public Accountability (OESPA), Gender and Development Office (GADO), and Division Provost Marshal (DPM, and Unit Sergeant Majors.

The joint effort aims to equip Trainers with the necessary knowledge, tools, and skills to train fellow soldiers and effectively handle trauma cases by applying peer-delivered combat stress assessment, early identification of individuals at risk of combat trauma, and support individuals who have experienced traumatic experiences in a compassionate and effective manner.

During the training, highly skilled and experienced trainers from 4ID and DSWD Field Office-10 provided invaluable insights and gave participants practical exercises to gauge their understanding of the complexities of trauma-related situations and its effect, recognize signs of distress, develop trauma-informed approaches, and implement effective stress management techniques.

In his closing remark, Maj. Gen. Jose Maria R. Cuerpo II, the 4ID Commander, underscored the significance of the training for the organization and individual soldiers as it ensures their well-being and mental health in navigating the ever-changing and multi-faceted environment. Likewise, Maj. Gen. Cuerpo II fervently hoped that the learning they acquired would be cascaded to their respective units and offices to develop highly resilient soldiers capable of adapting and excelling in the performance of their mandated mission.
