To further strengthen the roles of the Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) of the division, the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division conducted a 1-day NCO Empowerment Conference 2023, held at the 4ID Headquarters, Camp Evangelista, Cagayan de Oro City on June 23, 2023.

Senior Master Sergeant Johnny S. Escolta, the Division Sergeant Major, said the activity aims to enhance the feedback mechanism among Senior NCOs, cascade pertinent policies, guidelines, and directives from higher headquarters, and resolve issues and concerns affecting soldiers’ duties and responsibilities.

Said activity was attended by the Sergeants Major of organic and operational control Infantry Brigades and Battalions, First Sergeants of 41st, 42nd, 43rd, and 44th Division Reconnaissance Companies of the 4ID.

In his message, Maj. Gen. Jose Maria R. Cuerpo II, the Commander of 4ID stated that Senior NCOs are entrusted with the task of nurturing the next generation of leaders, imparting in them the values of integrity, discipline, and selfless service. He is also confident that the knowledge and insights that they gained during the conference will undoubtedly equip them to fulfill their duty with renewed vigor and dedication.

“This conference serves as a guide to enhancing our performance standards; assisting growth and progress; and as guidance to our subordinates and personnel. By setting clear and realistic goals, our division will have a clearer path to achieve success, and increase efficiency,” he added.

The NCOs serve as the backbone of the armed forces, providing leadership and expertise in executing missions and supporting the overall functioning of the military. NCO empowerment recognizes the valuable contributions of enlisted personnel and seeks to optimize their effectiveness and impact within the military organization.
