NPA Terrorists’ Materials seized in Agusan del Sur

SIBAGAT, AGUSAN DEL SUR – Troops from the 65th Infantry (Stalwart) Battalion under the operational control of the 901st Infantry (Fight ‘Em) Brigade seized a storage full of materials for anti-personnel mine, ammunitions, and other supplies in the hinterlands of Kolambugan, Sibagat, Agusan del Sur last August 18, 2023.

After receiving collective information from concerned residents, troops from 65IB were able to identify the location of the cache which contained the following: one (1) 2.5HP generator set, fifteen (15) rds of 5.56mm ball for M16A1, thirty (30) rds ammo for AK45, fifteen (15) rds ammo for Cal. 50, two (2) magazines for M16A1, one (1) magazine for AK47, 125 pcs of blasting caps, 150m of detonating cord, 20 kgs of explosive material, and various subversive documents.

This discovery reflects on the enemies’ continuous violation in making anti-personnel mines against the government forces. Their defiance on the International Humanitarian Law (IHL) indicates their attempt to intimidate the local populace who are now denouncing their presence in the area.

LTC MICHEL G MORTEJO, the Commanding Officer of 65IB vows to ensure the safety of the residents. Intensified operations and activities of the Army against the recovery efforts of the Counter Terrorist Groups (CTGs) will continue and that the troops along with other government agencies stand in the frontline to secure the area against any form of terrorism.
