4ID Celebrates 55 Years of Service Excellence, Recognizes Outstanding Unit and Personnel

CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City—On February 13, 2025, the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division commemorated its 55th founding anniversary with a modest yet meaningful celebration that paid tribute to its legacy of service excellence, honoring the past, recognizing present achievements, and fostering camaraderie among troops.

With the theme “55 Years of Service Excellence: Sustaining Peace, Fostering Progress,” this year’s celebration paid homage to all past and present officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian human resources who tirelessly work and made 4ID a continuing symbol of excellence and dedication, as well as the remarkable journey of the Division in becoming a well-decorated unit of the Philippine Army.

The celebration began with a wreath-laying ceremony in the morning at the Fajardo Memorial Park inside 4ID Headquarters. This solemn tribute to the fallen Diamond Troopers who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty served as a reminder of 4ID’s profound history and the courage of those who paved the way for its enduring legacy.

Highlighting the event was the presentation of awards to exemplary 4ID personnel and outstanding units held at the Montalvan Hall. A Plaque of Recognition was presented to the officers and enlisted personnel from the 30th Infantry ( Fight On) Battalion, 8th Infantry (Dependable) Battalion, 29th Infantry (Matatag) Battalion, 88th Infantry (Maringal) Battalion, 58th Infantry (Dimalulupig) Battalion, 4th Military Intelligence Battalion,  Service Support Battalion for their exceptional dedication and outstanding achievements in fulfilling their duties and responsibilities; two model civilian human resources from the Command and Camp Evangelista Station Hospital who upholds the highest standard of integrity and professionalism; and one CAFGU Active Auxiliary (CAA) for the remarkable dedication to duty and unwavering support to 4ID’s peace efforts. Moreover, the Alpha Company of 8IB was awarded for obtaining the highest rating of the company Sustain Warfighting Evaluation and Enhancement Program (SWEEP) for 2024.

In his message, 4ID Commander Brigadier General Michele B Anayron Jr., who led the activity, enjoined everyone to honor the past and embrace the future. Reflecting on its 55 years of service excellence, he emphasized 4ID’s role as guardian of peace and progress.

“As we move forward, let us uphold the legacy of excellence built over 55 steadfast years of service to our people and our nation. Let us continue to pave the path for peace and progress, standing as the shield and protector of Northern Mindanao and Caraga,”

The event concluded with an anniversary and pre-Valentine’s gathering, fostering camaraderie, strengthening teamwork, and celebrating the unity that binds all Diamond Troopers together.
