
In a continued commitment to promote a safe and free from harassment working environment, the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division hosted a seminar focused on raising awareness on the Republic Act 7877 or the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act and the Republic Act 11313 also known as the Safe Spaces Act or the Bawal Bastos Law at the Alcoseba Hall, Camp Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City on Friday, March 28, 2025.
Facilitated by the Gender and Development (GAD) Branch of the Office of the Chief of Staff for Personnel, OG1, 4ID headed by Major Daisy P. Baguio, the activity was participated by Enlisted Women of the division, as part of the Women’s Month celebration.
Mr. Japeth A. Villanueva and Ms. Jade Kristal Marie S. Dapal, Information Officers of the Commission on Human Rights-10 (CHR-10) served as the Subject Matter Experts during the seminar, which aimed at informing and educating women of their rights, legal remedies and preventive measures to promote a safe and respectful environment for all under the mentioned laws.
In her message, Maj. Baguio emphasized the importance of having deeper understanding of the said Republic Acts to equip them with the tools to recognize their rights, and understand what constitutes harassment and know when to report such incidents. Said initiative was part of the 4ID’s ongoing efforts to ensure that every personnel feels safe and supported in their roles as they peform their mandate.
