
CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City – The 401st Infantry Brigade welcomed its new commander in a Change of Command Ceremony held at its headquarters in Camp Datu Lipus Makapandong, Brgy. Awa, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur on Saturday, March 29, 2025, presided over by Major General Michele B. Anayron Jr., the Commander of 4ID.
Colonel Antonio B. Dulnuan Jr., a member of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1993 and the former Deputy Commander of the 403rd Infantry Brigade in Bukidnon, formally assumed as the new 401st Brigade Commander, replacing Colonel Emil J. Cruz, a member of the PMA Class of 1992, who served as the acting Commander since February of this year.
During the ceremony, Col. Cruz was honored for his outstanding leadership and commitment to the 4ID’s mission. In a short period, the 401st Brigade under his command has achieved significant successes against the communist terrorist group (CTG) that led to the neutralization of key leaders and the recovery of significant war materiel, which greatly contributed in maintaining peace and development in 4ID’s area of operations.
Meanwhile, Col. Dulnuan Jr., assured to sustain excellence that his precedessors had done and achieve the goal of declaring an insurgency free AOR. “As we go along, we establish goals. For me as I sit here, I would say genuinely we are going to attain insurgency free communities,” he added.
Furthermore, Maj. Gen. Anayron Jr., expressed his deep appreciation to Col. Cruz for playing a crucial role in the accomplishments of the division, while he also expressed confidence to the leadership and expertise of Col. Dulnuan Jr., to lead the 401st Brigade. “I am more than certain that his expertise will be useful in the days ahead as he is expected to steer the wheel of the 401st Brigade towards mission success. To the troops of the Unite ‘N Fight Brigade, I extend my sincerest appreciation for your steadfast support and cooperation to Col. Cruz, and I expect your continued full support and commitment to Col. Dulnuan, as we work together to achieve our mission,” he said.
