

CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City – The 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division, Philippine Army, formally installed a new Commanding Officer of Task Force Oro in a Change of Command Ceremony held at its headquarters in Zone 6, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City, on May 8, 2025.
Colonel Manuel B. Estanilla succeeded Colonel Warren C. Munda, who is set to take on a higher responsibility as Deputy Brigade Commander of the 403Bde, 4ID, PA. Colonel Estanilla, a member of the Officer Preparatory Course Class of 1999, has had a distinguished career marked by a strong commitment to service and leadership.
Prior to this appointment, he served as the Assistant Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations, G7 of 4ID. He also previously held the position of Commandant of the 4th Division Training School (4DTS), where his contributions played a vital role in the division’s training excellence.
Major General Michele B. Anayron Jr., Commander of the 4ID, praised both officers for their dedication and contributions to the division. He emphasized the important role of tbe Task Force Oro in maintaining peace and security in Cagayan de Oro City and expressed confidence that under Colonel Estanilla’s leadership, the unit would continue its mission with renewed commitment and professionalism.
“Let us not forget that we are all stewards of this city. Security is not the sole responsibility of the uniformed forces, it is a shared duty that call for vigilance and cooperation from everyone. By working hand and hand, we can safeguard the well-being of every residents, ensuring that everyone can live, work, and thrive without fear. Again, congratulations to both officers, may you serve with passion and excellence,” Major General Anayron Jr. added.
Major General Anayron Jr. also extended his sincere gratitude to Colonel Munda for his exemplary leadership and the high standards he set during his tenure. He emphasized that Colonel Munda departs with the full trust and confidence of the command, continuing his legacy of leadership and service.
The ceremony was attended by officers, enlisted personnel, civilian stakeholders, and representatives from various partner agencies, underscoring the important role of the Task Force Oro in urban peacekeeping, inter-agency cooperation, and community development. The 4ID leadership reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring smooth leadership transitions, which are critical to maintaining operational continuity and excellence in service to the nation.
