CLAVERIA, Misamis Oriental- Due to the threat of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the 58IB under the leadership of Lt Col Ricky L Canatoy, the Commanding Officer of 58th Infantry (Dimalulupig) Battalion, distributed four (4) Decontamination Booths in some provincial strategic boundaries of Misamis Oiental on April 08-09, 2020.

The said booths are mainly distributed and successfully installed in the entrance checkpoints of Tagoloan, Lugait, Opol, and Magsaysay.

It can be recalled that the first decontamination booth was delivered last April 03,2020 and this is an initiative of the Provincial Local Government headed by Gov Yevgeny Emano, in collaboration with 58th Infantry (Dimalulupig) Battalion to help boost the protection of everyone against COVID-19.

In his statement, Gov Yevgeny Emano said, “I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to our partners in the AFP, especially our troops in the 58IB, for the production of another four (4) 3in1 Decontamination booths. With these booths, we are confident that we can protect our frontliners from possible transmission of the virus, at the same time, we could prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community”.

Meanwhile, our frontliners from PNP, DOH and PDRRMC in the said checkpoints would like to express their appreciation for the improvised decontamination booth. Likewise, they urged the local populace to cooperate, stay at home and observe all health advisories and IATF-MEID protocols on the prevention of the dreadful virus.
