The 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division, through St. Ignatius of Loyola Chapel, under the leadership of 4ID Catholic Chaplain, Lt. Col. Domingo L Labrilla, successfully conducted a mass wedding ceremony on Saturday, December 14, 2024, held at the same chapel inside Camp Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City.

Col. Sandy R. Majarocon, the Assistant Chief of Staff for Financial Management, G10, 4ID, graced the activity on behalf of 4ID Commander Major General Jose Maria R Cuerpo II, together with Senior Master Sergeant Rey A. Viña, Division Sergent Major, 4ID.

With the theme, “Libreng Kasalan Alay sa kasundaluhan Bago ang Kapaskuhan Part 2”, the ceremony was an opportunity for soldiers and civilian couples who are already committed to a civil wedding/civilly married and soldiers who have children from their live-in partner and were living together for five (5) years & above to receive the Sacrament of Matrimony.

Three military and five civilian couples took their vows in a solemn ceremony officiated by Lt. Col. Labrilla, marking a monumental moment of unity and commitment.

In a statement, Maj. Gen. Cuerpo extended his warmest congratulations and best wishes to the newlyweds. He emphasized the significance of marriage as a commitment that mirrors the strength, resilience, and sacrifice inherent in military service.

“As soldiers, we are bound by the same duty to protect our country. Today, however, we celebrate a deeply personal promise—the vow to protect, love, and support one another in marriage. This union stands as a testament to the strength of our community, both in and out of uniform,” said the 4ID Commander.
