The 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division, through the Division Public Affair Office, led by Lt. Col. Francisco P Garello Jr., has continued to bolster its partnership with the media during the Media Christmas Fellowship held at Headquarters 4ID, Camp Evangelista, Brgy. Patag, Cagayan de Oro City on Sunday, December 22, 2024.
The event, which spanned an entire day, brought together over sixty (60) local media personalities from Surigao del Norte, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, Cagayan de Oro, and Iligan for a series of activities designed to foster and strengthen collaboration, camaraderie, and mutual understanding.
The morning fellowship kicked off with the Division Press Corps (DPC) meeting held at Alcoseba Hall, 4ID. DPC President Ms. Menzie Montes, RMN DXCC Cagayan de Oro City (CDOC) presided over the meeting, together with other media personalities, to discuss pressing concerns, shared updates, and explored ways to enhance their working relationship with other media and 4ID. Among the key topics discussed was the organization of 4DPC Cluster Caraga, aimed at expanding the network and improving coordination between media outlets across different areas in Caraga region.
In the afternoon, the media personalities participated in a friendly “Palarong Pinoy” (traditional Filipino games) held at 4ID Grandstand. This fun-filled activity is designed to build camaraderie and strengthen ties among the media. The games were met with great enthusiasm, with teams engaging in spirited competition, laughter, and friendly banter.
The event culminated in a simple but lively gathering at the Officer’s Club House, H4ID, where the spirit of togetherness continued to thrive. Highlighting the evening was the abundance of fun games and a raffle draw for all media personalities, sponsored by generous 4ID offices and units as well as different financial institutions.
In his message, 4ID Commander, MGen. Jose Maria R Cuerpo II conveyed his gratitude and appreciation to media partners for their continuous partnership and support. He also acknowledges their crucial role in providing the people with real and truthful information, especially on 4ID’s peace and development efforts.
“We are always thankful for your very active partnership with us, especially in providing real and true information to the public. Our goal is to give truthful information so that everybody would have the power to be able to decide which is correct and which is wrong. We are deeply thankful for your continued support, as we cannot effectively provide this information to the people of Northeastern Mindanao on our own. Through your help, we have been able to reach the community and ensure they are informed, particularly on peace and development,” the 4ID Commander remarked.
