Two Former Rebel Couples Receive 100k Cash Assistance from Government

CLAVERIA, MISAMIS ORIENTAL – Four former rebels under the custody of 58th Infantry Dimalulupig Battalion received cash assistance from the provincial government of Bukidnon through Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), June 18, 2021.

The said FRs are Lucio Artao Lindaan alias Dino and his wife Adora Andelan Salamangka alias Dina both from Sentro De Grabidad (SDG) Ryan, Sub Regional Command 1, North Central Mindanao Regional Command who surrendered last June 19, 2020; and Ben Domino Hangadon alias Keram and his wife Ana Mansinugdan Hangadon alias Jay-jay from Sub-section Guerilla Unit (SSGU) of NCMRC, who surrendered to the folds of the law last December 10, 2020. Each one of them received Php25,000.00 from the PSWDO.

Lindaan expressed his appreciation to the government and said, “Dako akong kalipay sa hinabang na gihatag sa gobyerno. Puspos gyud ang ilang tabang sa amo sukad pa tong nagsurrender mi last year hangtod karon. Dako kaayo ning tabang sa among pamilya. Salamat kaayo. Sukad tung nag surrender ko ning-ayo ang among kahimtang. Wala ko nagmahay sa among desisyon na mosurender. (I am very happy with the assistance provided by the government. They have been immensely helpful since we surrendered last year until now. This has been a huge help to our family. Thank you so much. Our condition has improved since we surrendered. I have no regrets in our decision to surrender.)

Meanwhile, Lt. Col. Ricky L. Canatoy, Commanding Officer of 58IB said, “This is a clear illustration of how the government ensures the rights and welfare of rebels who choose to return to the folds of the law and mainstream society. And we express our gratitude to the Provincial Government of Bukidnon for their generosity even extending help and support to our former rebels. We hope that more members of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) will choose to return to the folds of the law and avail of the government programs intended for them.”
