Former Militia ng Bayan yields to Army’s 16IB, reveals war materials

MALITBOG, Bukidnon – A former Militia ng Bayan (MB) of the New People’s Army (NPA) yielded to the 16th Infantry (Maglilingkod) Battalion under the operational control of 402nd Infantry (Stingers) Brigade and revealed the location of Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) war materials at the vicinity of Sitio Mintapod, Brgy Hagpa, Impasugong, Bukidnon on August 27, 2022.

Former MB identified as alias Labay was a courier and responsible for the purchase and delivery of supplies for the armed group.

Labay tipped-off to the troops the site where he hid the cache which contains one US Cal .30 M1 Springfield Rifle, 10 pcs hand grenade, Improvised Explosive Devise (IED), and several ammunitions.

The 16IB believes that the cooperation of the rebel returnee that led to the unearthing of the war materials significantly impacts to the campaign of the National Government to end local communist armed conflict.

Once again, the unit calls for other remaining NPA personalities to lay down their arms and leave the senseless armed struggle. The government has laid out several reintegration programs for those who return to the folds of the law.
