Cabadbaran, Agusan Del Norte – Troops of 29th Infantry (Matatag) Battalion acting on the information provided by the small-scale miners in the area successfully discovered NPA RPG with Three (3) live ammos and Bomb paraphernalias on September 30, 2022 at the hinterlands of Brgy Cuyago.
It can be recalled that on September 14, 2022, The troops of 29IB encountered the CTG in the said area and later found the cadaver of Reylando Rubilla Leyson Jr thru the relentless Focused Military Operation being conducted by the Philippine Army Unit in the area.
The 29th Infantry (Matatag) Battalion condemns the CTGs continued use of improvised explosive devices (IED) functioning as landmines due to the inherent humanitarian threats they pose to civilians and communities. It clearly implies that the CTG does not respect human rights and does not comply with International Humanitarian Law (IHL).
