Another NPA terrorist killed in an armed clash with government troops

CLAVERIA, Misamis Oriental- Another communist terrorist group (CTG) member died during an armed encounter with the government forces under the 58th Infantry (Dimalulupig) Battalion in the hinterlands of Brgy Pigsalohan, Gingoog City, this afternoon, October 28, 2022.

The 58IB troopers, while conducting intensified combat operations, encountered more or less ten (10) CTGs believed to be remnants of the dismantled independent PLTN FALCON, SRC-1, NCMRC.

The said the encounter happened at around 12:14 in the afternoon, which resulted in the death of another CPP-NPA terrorist (CNT) member and the capture of one (1) AK47 Rifle, two (2) M16 Rifles, one (1) M14 Rifle, one (1) Cal.30 Carbine, eight (8) Backpacks, one(1) Improvised Explosive Devise (IED), personal belongings and subversive documents. A pursuit operation is still ongoing. The said cadaver is yet to be identified as of the moment.

It can be recalled that one CNT was neutralized last October 20, 2022, during an armed clash in Brgy Alagatan, Gingoog City. Since then, the 58IB has intensified its pursuit of security operations to maintain peace and order in eastern Misamis Oriental.

The recent clash happened while the operating troops of 58IB were conducting a pursuit operation against fleeing armed rebels whom the 58IB Dimalulupig Troopers encountered last October 20, 2022.

Lt. Col Christian C Uy said, “It is a clear manifestation that the CTGs don’t have safe havens and can be located by our troops wherever they may be. We will continue to hunt them and bring justice to all those they have victimized and terrorized.”

In addition, Lt. Col Uy reiterated his call to the CTG members to voluntarily surrender and stop the communist terrorism, or they will end up with the same fate as the two latest casualties in the intensified combat operations.
