4ID units receive Battle Streamers for dismantling CTG formations

The 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division, along with its operating units, received the AFP Campaign Battle Streamers in recognition for dismantling their confronted Communist Terrorist Group formations. The awarding rites was led by the AFP Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Bartolome O. Bacarro PA, during the 87th Founding Anniversary celebration of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Wednesday, December 21 at Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

Aside from 4ID itself, the 401st Infantry ‘Unite N Fight’ Brigade, the 402nd Infantry ‘Stingers’ Brigade, the 403rd Infantry ‘Peacemaker’ Brigade, the 58th Infantry ‘Dimalulupig’ Battalion, and the 75th Infantry ‘Marauder’ Battalion, also received awards. Dismantled CTG formations were Guerilla Front 19 in Caraga region, Guerilla Front Huawei (4B) and the Sub-Regional Committee 4 operating in the tri-boundaries of Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon and Caraga region.

The 4ID Commander, Major General Wilbur C. Mamawag, expressed his utmost gratitude to the AFP leadership for recognizing the exemplary performance of the Diamond troopers and for giving full support to the endeavors of JTF Diamond, thus resulting in tremendous accomplishments for the year 2022. He also attributed these successes to the Command’s strong partnership with the local government units and line agencies under the auspices of Regional Task Force – ELCAC and also to the people who gave their trust and confidence in our troops.

“With AFP’s guidance, the Diamond troopers will remain steadfast in performing their mandate, especially in hunting down the remaining CTG personalities until the last NPA member is accounted. I am confident that with the sustained cooperation of the communities of both regions (Region 10 and 13), we will continue to achieve significant victories to finally end the local communist armed conflict,” he added.
