JTFD Commander visits Maglilingkod Troopers; confers awards to 10 soldiers

MALITBOG, Bukidnon – The Joint Task Force Diamond Commander, MAJOR GENERAL WILBUR C MAMAWAG PA, together with his staff visited the men and women of the 16th Infantry (Maglilingkod) Battalion under the operational control of the 402nd Infantry (Stingers) Brigade on 17 January 2023.

MAJOR GENERAL MAMAWAG was warmly welcomed by the Maglilingkod Troopers through a traditional military honor hosted by LTC NEIL ARMSTRONG F BATAYOLA, Battalion Commander, 16th Infantry (Maglilingkod) Battalion. The charismatic commander later led a tree planting activity at the unit’s Hinanaling Tabang: Padayon Shelter which was also participated in by the host Mayor of Malitbog, Hon. Gary D. Casiño and 402ND DBC, COL EMIL J CRUZ.

Likewise, the Commander, JTFD personally pinned awards to the deserving troops of the unit in recognition of their recent accomplishments against the Communist-NPA Terrorists in the areas of Bukidnon and Misamis Oriental.

“Even though 2022 is a banner year of accomplishments, let this 2023 be the best year ever,” he said as he re-echoed LTGEN GREG T ALMEROL, Commander, EASTMINCOM.
“If you want to accomplish and contribute more, let’s continue to innovate. Because if we keep on doing the same thing, we cannot expect new results,” he added.
The visit provided a boost in the morale of the men and women of the 16th Infantry (Maglilingkod) Battalion as it continues its mission of ending local communist armed conflict in northern Bukidnon and parts of MisOr.
