The 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division, through the office of Gender and Development Office (4GADO), in partnership with City Savings Bank, the thrift bank subsidiary of Union Bank of the Philippines, held a Breast Cancer Awareness Seminar on June 14, 2023, held at 4ID Clubhouse, Camp Evangelista, Barangay Patag, Cagayan de Oro City.
The said activity aimed to educate, raise awareness, early detection, and prevention to empower 4ID female personnel, including Civilian Human Resources, about breast cancer.
During the activity, Dr. Stephen Estrada Lopez, MD, FPCP, as resource speaker, provided invaluable insights into the risk factors, symptoms, prevention strategies, and treatment options related to breast cancer. Subsequently, Dr. Lopez teaches the participants the examination technique to detect early signs of breast cancer through interactive activity and emphasizes the importance of regular check-ups, a healthy lifestyle, and having a strong support network in case one is diagnosed with breast cancer.
Maj. Daisy P Baguio, the Chief of 4GADO,4ID, expressed her gratitude to City Savings Bank and Dr. Lopez for sharing their expertise and experiences, which undoubtedly played a significant role in enhancing breast cancer awareness and inspiring positive change. Further, Maj. Baguio said that the activity underscores 4ID’s thrust and commitment to provide premium health care and improve the overall well-being of its female personnel.
