4ID holds 1st Semester Media Fellowship 2023

CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro – In the pursuit to continuously strengthen partnerships with the media sector, the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division held the 1st-semester media fellowship night at 4ID Mess Hall, Camp Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City on July 21, 2023.

Themed “Transformative Partnership: Fostering Unity for Long-Lasting Peace and Sustainable Development”, the said fellowship aims to recognize media as a key partner and acknowledge its contributions to information dissemination while collectively pursuing transformative and positive ways forward in line with the 4ID’s “whole-of-nation” efforts to end the local communist armed conflict in its area of responsibility.

More than forty (40) members from Cagayan de Oro Press Club (COPC) and other media entities in the Northern Mindanao region led by COPC President, Mr. Frank Mendez, attended the fun-filled fellowship night, highlighted by the fun games and musical entertainment. Present also are the representatives from the Philippine Information Agency-10 (PIA-10-) led by Mr. Vincent Bautista, Information Officer of PIA- Misamis Oriental.

In attendance also during the event were Brigadier General Joel Paloma, Assistant Division Commander, 4ID; Col Ted Dumosmog, Assistant Division Commander for Retirees and Reservist Affairs (RRA), 4ID; and the General, Personal and Special Staff of 4ID led by Col Cesar Conte Jr, the Chief of Staff.

MGen Cuerpo conveyed his profound gratitude to the members of the media who steadily supported and trusted the 4ID and played a vital role in the government’s goal of peace and development.

“Through our partnership, we have demonstrated the power of collaboration. Our joint efforts have helped build bridges of understanding and foster empathy within our communities. Your voices matter, we acknowledge and respect the impact you have on public opinion. Let us work together to inspire change, educate, and empower our communities to continue upholding the truth as our compass, and help shape a future that is built on unity, understanding, and compassion, ” MGen Cuerpo said. Meanwhile, COPC President Mr. Frank Mendez expressed his appreciation for sustaining the positive relationship and acknowledging the efforts of the media. He also uttered that they will continue to support the 4ID’s advocacies and campaigns by ensuring that the general public stays informed and engaged in the attainment of long-lasting peace and development of the nation.
