CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City – President Ferdinand “Bong-Bong” R. Marcos Jr. lauded the Philippine Army’s accomplishments in the division area (region 13 and most of region 10), during his visit to the 402nd Infantry “Stingers” Brigade Headquarters Camp Romualdo C Rubi, Brgy Bancasi, Butuan City on July 12, 2023.
PBBM was welcomed by Hon. Jose S Aquino, 1st District Representative, Agusan del Norte, Hon Ronnie Vicente Conde Lagnada, City Mayor of Butuan City, Lt. Gen. Greg T. Almerol, Commander of Eastern Mindanao Command (EastMinCom), and Major General Jose Maria R. Cuerpo II, Commander, 4ID, along with all 4ID Brigade Commanders.
BGen Adonis Ariel Orio, Commander of the 402nd Brigade, received the President and the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in a traditional military Arrival Honor while MGen Cuerpo, 4ID commander, presented a briefing on the peace and security situation as well as the significant milestones of the whole JTFD.
In his talk to troops, President Marcos recognized the unprecedented accomplishment made by the Joint Task Force Diamond which led to the massive reductions of CPP-NPA Terrorists (CNTs) in Caraga – opening the door to opportunity for socio-economic development. Further, He also said that he looks forward to coming back to visit again when he will be informed that 4ID has already finished the CTG 100% as he encouraged troops to remain steadfast in their mandated task of destroying the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG).
“It is very good to see that we have been succeeding in our operations at neutralizing many of the forces, the anti-government forces, that we had had to deal with over many years,” the President said.
In a statement, MGen Cuerpo expressed his gratitude on the President’s unwavering support and trust to 4ID. Likewise, he assured that the Division, along with its line units, will intensify its combat operation and strengthen coordination and partnership with stakeholders in its endeavor to put an end to the atrocities and criminal activities of CTG in its area of responsibility.
It can also be noted that on the same day, the President graced the inauguration of the 24.9-Megawatt Lake Mainit Hydroelectric Power Plant in the Municipality of Jabonga, Agusan del Norte, and led the distributions of various government assistance to selected beneficiaries in the province by giving of fertilizers, seedlings, seedlings, complete harvesters, hauling truck, and a farm tractor to farmers.
