4ID Commander boosts troops’ morale through continuous field visitations, awarding of troops in Caraga region

To further boost the troops morale deployed in far-flung areas in Caraga region, Major General Jose Maria R. Cuerpo II, Commander of the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division, together with some of his General and Coordinating Staff, has visited the Forward Operating Detachment (FOD) Sinamparong in Brgy. Poblacion 2, Santiago, Agusan del Norte, and the 44th Division Reconnaissance Company (44DRC) and 36th Infantry Battalion in Brgy. Puyat, Carmen, Surigao del Sur on September 6, 2023.

The continuous field visitations to the troops assigned in various distant posts are part of MGen. Cuerpo’s leadership thrust to ensure the troops’ high operational readiness and promote its morale and welfare. MGen Cuerpo personally checked the soldiers’ situation and conveyed the 4ID’s commitment in promoting the well-being of the soldier heroes at the frontlines is paramount.

During his visit at 44DRC and 36IB, Major General Cuerpo awarded the troops for demonstrating gallantry in action after a firefight against members of the communist terrorist group (CTG) in Brgy. Bagyang, San Miguel, Surigao del Sur on September 5 in the evening and early morning of September 6, which resulted in the capture of one (1) M16 rifle, one (1) M14 rifle, two (2) rifle grenades, ammunitions, magazines, food supplies and other war paraphernalia.

It can be recalled that on August 24, the 4ID Commander also visited the troops deployed in FOD Kamalangan in Brgy. Binicalan, San Luis, Agusan del Sur, and the Charlie Company of the 8th Infantry Battalion in Brgy. Caburacanan, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

Maj. Gen. Cuerpo II commended the strong dedication of troops in fighting the enemies as they continuously strive to sustain the peace and facilitate development in their AOR. He highlighted how their commitment and enthusiasm in serving the people brought forth successes and accomplishments in the 4ID’s campaign to end the local communist armed conflict.
