4ID resumes Outdoor, Physical Activities after 3-Year Hiatus

CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City – This week, the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division has implemented the resumption of its Flag Raising Ceremony, Flag Retreat, Taebo, and Athletic Day after a 3-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, with the primary goal of boosting the morale and overall well-being of its troops.

4ID Commander Major General Jose Maria R Cuerpo II spearheaded the kicked-off activity on Monday, September 4, through the conduct of a flag-raising ceremony and on Tuesday, September 5, during the athletic day through Taebo exercise held at Camp Evangelista, Brgy Patag, Cagayan de Oro City.

Said activity is part of 4ID’s thrust and commitment to promoting the physical and mental health of its personnel, including its Civilian Human Resource, to ensure their effectiveness in fulfilling their duties and responsibilities. Moreover, the resumption of the activities provide soldiers and CivHR a chance to stay physically fit, observe traditional military ceremonies and foster resilience, and reinvigorate their dedication to the service.

In a statement, Maj. Gen. Cuerpo stated that the return of these activities underscores the collective commitment of the whole 4ID to sustain and continuously build the force to effectively serve the people by enhancing physical and mental well-being of the troops, which remains a top priority for 4ID. Further, the regular conduct of the flag ceremony is an opportunity for the troops to reaffirm their unwavering commitment to the military service and country.
