The 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division strengthens its support for mental health care through its participation in the Lakaw Alang sa Paglaum: A Suicide Prevention Awareness Walk for a Cause held at the Rodelsa Circle to City Amphitheatre at Plaza Divisoria, Cagayan de Oro City on September 10, 2023.
The City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) Department Psychosocial Division spearheaded the activity in celebration of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month 2023. Various government agencies, religious organizations, students, and private individuals joined the walk, which aims to emphasize the importance of mental well-being and prevent cases of suicide through awareness and education campaigns.
In a statement, 4ID Commander Major General Jose Maria R Cuerpo II expressed his appreciation to CSWD for the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful event and said that 4ID will continue to partner with mental health care providers and other agencies in support of mental health. Further, he stated that 4ID will always advocate for mental well-being, provide necessary resources, and work towards destigmatizing mental health issues among its troops, dependents, and the people they serve.
