The 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division joined its maritime partner agencies, the Philippine Ports Authority, Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), Philippine Coast Guard, PNP Maritime Group, and the Philippine Navy, in celebrating the 24th National Maritime Week Celebration 2023 at the Port of Cagayan de Oro in Brgy. Col. Warren C. Munda, the Commanding Officer of the Task Force Oro represented the 4ID Commander in the said activity together with other 4ID Officers.
The event was highlighted by the conduct of Inter-Agency Operability and Capability Simulation Exercise 2023 on September 27, 2023, in which a series of scenarios were demonstrated such as bomb threat, seajacking, high-risk boarding, fire onboard, search and rescue operations, firefight onboard and oil spill response operation.
Col. Munda commended the agencies that participated in the SIMEX and displayed proficiency in maritime operations, emphasizing their readiness to respond to any maritime security challenges.
He further said that the 4ID’s participation underscores the common interest for peace and security and its dedication to building stronger connections between partner agencies and the communities. It can be noted that maritime agencies are key partners of the command as they play a vital role in the country’s defense in ensuring national security against any terrorist threats.
