4ID recognizes Dinagatnon’s invaluable contributions to government’s peace and development initiatives during 17th Araw ng Dinagat Islands

CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City – Major General Jose Maria R. Cuerpo II, Commander of the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division, acknowledged the invaluable contributions of Dinagatnons to the government’s peace and development initiatives during the celebration of the 17th Araw ng Dinagat held at the Provincial Capitol in San Jose, Dinagat Islands, on October 1, 2023.

MGen Cuerpo, the activity’s guest of honor and speaker, praised the Local Government Unit of the Province of Dinagat Islands under the exceptional leadership of Governor Nilo P. Demerey Jr. for facilitating overwhelming support for the security sector. 

Through the visionary leadership and effort of Gov. Demerey Jr., the PLGU of Dinagat Islands, together with the 4ID, launched significant partnership milestones during a ground-breaking ceremony for the future construction site of the headquarters of the 1505th Community Defense Center (1505CDC), 15th Regional Community Defense Group (15RCDG), Reserve Command (RESCOM), Philippine Army in Brgy. Wilson of the same town. 

In the Camp Development Plan presented during the ceremony, the facility, which has a total land area of 400 hectares, will have a One-Storey Admin Building with a Classroom, a Two-Storey Classroom, a One-Storey Mobilization Center, CDC Director and Personnel Quarters, a Motorpool, Parade Ground with Basketball Court, Deep Recovery and Training Pool, Firing Range, Military Tower, Obstacle Course Station, and other facilities that will be used for training, coordination, and capacity-building activities aimed at enabling residents-turned-reservists to actively contribute to the peace and development of their communities.

Meanwhile, during the Gabi ng Parangal, MGen Cuerpo commended the province for highly valuing and giving well-deserved recognition to 120 Dinagatnon employees through its Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE). He said that the employees of Dinagat embody the true spirit of progress and service and a true testament to dedication, strength, and unwavering commitment to the betterment of our beloved nation.

The 4ID Commander has vowed to continue working hand-in-hand with the LGU and all its peace partners to attain lasting peace and inclusive development not only in the Dinagat Islands but also in the whole Caraga and Northern Mindanao regions. 

“The Joint Task Force Diamond will be looking forward to more collaborations and stronger partnerships as we do our best to work hand-in-hand with you to attain lasting peace and inclusive economic progress and development and end local communist armed conflict in the regions of Caraga and Northern Mindanao. The 4th Infantry Division will always be your partner in peace. We hope for your continual support to 4ID as we all continue to become better men, leaders, and citizens of our beloved nation,” he added.
