118 new soldiers of 4ID complete Basic Military Training in Bukidnon

CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City – One Hundred Eighteen (118) new soldiers of the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division have completed their Basic Military Training (BMT) in a joint Closing and Opening Ceremony of the BMT and Infantry Orientation Course (INFOC) held at the 4th Division Training School in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon on Friday, October 20, 2023.

The newly-minted soldiers who belonged to the Candidate Soldier Course (CSC) “Lagablab” Class 782-2023 were composed of 112 males and six (6) females.

They have undergone four (4) months of rigorous physical training since June this year, developed valuable teamwork skills, and acquired the knowledge necessary to serve with honor and distinction.

Major General Jose Maria R. Cuerpo II, Commander of 4ID graced the momentous occasion together with other 4ID Officers, Training Directoriate of 4DTS, stakeholders, and the families and friends of the new breed of soldiers.

In his message, Maj. Gen. Cuerpo II congratulated the new graduates for exhibiting unwavering dedication, discipline, and resilience, which are the hallmarks of a true Diamond trooper. He further encouraged them to maintain a high-degree of discipline as they embark to the real world of combat and non-combat mission.

“Let us work together to achieve our given mission. Embrace discipline as it is the bedrock of a strong military. It is very essential not only for your safety but for the successful execution of our mission to serve the people and secure the land. May this serve as your guide in performing your mandate in the years to come,” he added.

Moreover, Maj. Gen. Cuerpo II also expressed gratitude to the families of the new graduates, recognizing the crucial support they have provided throughout the training process. He also encouraged them to continue supporting the new soldiers as they carry on with their service to the people.

Said graduates will subsequently undergo the INFOC, a 45-day specialization phase training.
