4ID bolsters force, augments 118 new breed of soldiers to combat insurgency

CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City – As the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division continues to strengthen its force to finally put an end to the decades-long insurgency problem, an additional 118 new breed of soldiers were about to be augmented in Northern Mindanao and Caraga region to combat CPP NPA Terrorists.

Said soldiers who belonged to the Candidate Soldier Course (CSC) “Lagablab” Class 782-2023, completed their Infantry Orientation Course (INFOC) in a Closing Ceremony held at the 4th Division Training School in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon on Thursday, December 14, 2023. 112 males and six (6) females graduated from their rigorous Basic Military Training (BMT) in October this year.

403rd Infantry Brigade Commander Brigadier General Michele B. Anayron Jr. who served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the Ceremony, said these newly minted privates will eventually be augmented in 4ID Brigades and Battalions and will continue the campaign of ending local communist armed conflict.

Furthermore, in his statement, 4ID Commander Major General Jose Maria R. Cuerpo II pointed out the significance of augmenting new troops in the fight against insurgency. He said this signifies a more logical move in strengthening the 4ID’s capabilities and maintaining the stability of the two regions it serves.

“These new soldiers represent our continuous efforts to bolster our force and put an end to the threat caused by the communist terrorist group (CTG). As we remain resolute in our mission to foster peace and development, we will not rest our laurels to create a more secure and peaceful environment conducive for living especially in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas. To our new privates, congratulations for hurdling the training and may your commitment to serve remains persistent as you go on with your military journey,” he added.
