4ID Highlights Accomplishments in 4th Quarter Regional Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee-10 Meeting

The 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division of the Philippine Army showcased its key achievements in Northern Mindanao during the 4th Quarter Regional Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee (RLECC) – 10 meeting, held at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Camp Alagar, Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City, on December 27, 2024.

During the meeting, Lt. Col. Manuel B. Estanilla, Assistant Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations (OG7), provided an in-depth presentation on the region’s significant milestones under the various clusters of the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC).

The presentation highlighted the collective efforts and accomplishments of the 4ID and its partner agencies in fighting insurgency and promoting peace and security in Northern Mindanao.

Lt. Col. Estanilla reported on the enhanced collaboration among military, police, local government units, and other stakeholders in carrying out successful initiatives that have led to the dismantling of local insurgent groups, the disruption of illegal activities, and the improved security environment in the region.

He also detailed the significant strides made in socio-economic development and humanitarian projects that have benefitted communities previously affected by armed conflict.

In a statement, Major General Jose Maria R. Cuerpo II, Commander of the 4th Infantry Division, emphasized the importance of continued collaboration and coordination among various sectors in achieving lasting peace.

He also reiterated that the RTF-ELCAC’s success is due to the combined efforts of government agencies and local communities, who have all played an instrumental role in eliminating the root causes of insurgency.

“The fight against insurgency is not solely a military endeavor but a whole-of-nation approach. We remain committed to supporting the government’s efforts to provide a better, safer, and more prosperous future for the people of Northern Mindanao. As we move forward, we will continue strengthening our partnerships with local government units, law enforcement agencies, and civil society to build more resilient communities,” said Major General Cuerpo II.

The meeting saw active participation from various government officials, law enforcement representatives, local government officials, and key stakeholders. Their collaboration has been crucial in the successful implementation of peace and development programs across Northern Mindanao.

The 4ID’s involvement in the 4th Quarter RLECC-10 meeting further underscores the ongoing success of security and development efforts in the region, playing a key role in addressing long-standing challenges posed by insurgency and other threats to peace.
