CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City – Colonel Rey Pasco, Assistant Division Commander for Reservists and Retirees Affairs of the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division, participated in the 1st Quarter Ready Reserve Unit Forum held in Alegria, Surigao del Norte, on February 9, 2025.
The forum, organized by the 15th Regional Community Defense Group (15RCDG) of the Army Reserve Command, Philippine Army, aimed to address important issues and concerns regarding the development of the Reserve Force. It also sought to identify actionable solutions to enhance the management and operations of Reservist and ROTC units throughout the region.
The main topics discussed included Republic Act 7077, known as the “Citizen Armed Forces of the Philippines Reservist Act of 1991,” and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Directive on Reservist Utilization. The discussions emphasized the importance of actively engaging reservists and promoting collaboration between regular troops and reservists to enhance support for internal security operations. Additionally, a significant focus was placed on establishing clear policies and command relationships for deploying reservists, particularly in response to disasters and emergencies.
Before the forum, Colonel Pasco visited the troops of the 15th Regional Community Defense Group. His visit aimed to boost the morale and welfare of the personnel while emphasizing the crucial role of reservists in supporting the overall mission of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
In his address, Colonel Pasco highlighted the importance of teamwork, integrity, and accountability in achieving organizational success. He expressed his gratitude for the dedication and volunteer efforts of the reservists, acknowledging their role as dependable partners in protecting communities and advancing national security goals.
“As the newly appointed Assistant Division Commander for Reservists and Retirees Affairs, my guiding principles for achieving mission success revolve around teamwork, integrity, and accountability. I commend our reservists for their exemplary service, volunteerism, and unwavering commitment to the Armed Forces of the Philippines Reserve Force. Your dedication strengthens our collective ability to protect our people and communities in this region,” said Colonel Pasco.
Meanwhile, Brigadier General Michele B. Anayron Jr., the Commander of the 4th Infantry Division (4ID), praised the collaboration between regular troops and reservists. He emphasized that this partnership enhances the overall effectiveness of the division’s mission.
He noted that this teamwork reflects the shared commitment of both regular troops and reservists to protect the people and defend the nation, further reinforcing the 4ID’s mission of “Serving the People, Securing the Land.”
