New 4ID Commander Visits Diamond Troops in Bukidnon, Honors Outstanding Soldiers

CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City – Brigadier General Michele B. Anayron Jr., the Commander of the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division, visited the Headquarters of the 8th Infantry Battalion and the 1st Special Forces Battalion, both under the operational control of the 403rd Infantry Brigade in Bukidnon on February 8, 2025 to check on the troops, assess the campaigns of each unit, and recognize the bravery and exceptional performance of selected personnel.

During his visit to the 8IB, BGen. Anayron received a warm welcome from Lt. Col. Marc Bien Stevens J. Deslate, the Commanding Officer of the 8IB, as well as other Officers and Enlisted Personnel. The 4ID Commander attended the blessing of the unit’s new facility, received updates on ongoing campaigns and achievements, and personally awarded the Military Merit Medal to two enlisted personnel for their heroic actions and meritorious achievements against the communist terrorist group during an encounter in Malaybalay City.

On the same day, BGen. Anayron visited the headquarters of the 1st Special Forces Battalion, where he was welcomed by the Officers and Enlisted Personnel led by Lt. Col. Emilio T. Bautista, the Commanding Officer of the unit. During his visit, BGen. Anayron received a briefing on the unit’s current campaign updates and recognized outstanding personnel for their exceptional dedication and achievements in combating Communist Terrorist Groups (CTG) in Bukidnon. One officer, one enlisted personnel member, and one CAFGU Active Auxiliary (CAA) were honored for their remarkable efforts.

The dedicated individuals displayed remarkable courage, skill, and commitment to their duties, consistently exceeding expectations in various challenging situations, particularly during combat operations.

During his address to the troops in both units, the 4ID Commander expressed his gratitude for their unwavering efforts in maintaining peace and stability in their area of operations. He stressed the importance of continued vigilance, discipline, and dedication in the fulfillment of their mission.

The visit concluded with an inspection of the units’ operational readiness and morale, followed by a discussion with personnel to address their concerns and reaffirm leadership’s support for their welfare and operational needs.
