Brigadier General Leo Edward Y Caranto, the Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, J4, of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), visited the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division on February 27, 2025, to assess the state of the logistical operations.

BGen Caranto was welcomed with traditional military honors hosted by Colonel Rey P. Pasco, the Assistant Division Commander for Reservist and Retiree Affairs (ADC-RRA), 4ID, along with selected Officers and military personnel at Camp Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City. He then paid a courtesy call to 4ID Commander Brigadier General Michele B. Anayron Jr.

Subsequently, BGen Caranto proceeded to the 10th Forward Service Support Unit (10FSSU), ASCOM, PA, inside 4ID, for a routine Ammunition Surveillance Inspection (ASI) to evaluate the condition and compliance of ammunition storage, inventory, and distribution practices. This ensured that the unit maintained its operational readiness while minimizing risk to personnel and the surrounding environment.

In a statement, BGen Anayron underscored the importance of the visit in ensuring that the 10FSSU maintained the highest standards of logistical preparedness in supporting the Division’s operational effectiveness. “The logistics unit, especially the 10FSSU, are crucial in ensuring our troops have the resources they need, when they need them, with the utmost safety and efficiency,” he said.
