National Women’s Month 2025: 4ID Reaffirms Commitment to Gender Equality, Inclusive Society

CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City — In a steadfast commitment to gender equality and fostering an inclusive society, the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division, under the leadership of Major General Michele B. Anayron Jr., joined the nationwide kickoff celebration of the National Women’s Month 2025.

Centered around the sub-theme “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas,” this observance highlights the government’s vision of an inclusive and progressive nation where women, irrespective of their background or circumstances, can thrive across all sectors of society. It serves as both a guiding principle and a call to action, reinforcing 4ID’s commitment to ensuring that women are represented, empowered, and provided with equitable opportunities in all areas of its operations.

The month-long celebration commenced with a motorcade from Rodelsa Circle, Rotonda, to the 4ID Headquarters on March 3, 2025. Military personnel, led by Major Daisy P. Baguio, Chief of the Gender and Development (GAD) Office within the Branch of the Office of the Chief of Staff for Personnel (OG1), joined selected personnel from other national government agencies in Region 10. They traversed key areas in the city to raise awareness about the invaluable role of women in shaping society.

Meanwhile, the Officers, Enlisted Personnel, and Civilian Human Resources of 4ID came together in unity and participated in the AFP-wide simultaneous Flag-Raising Ceremony spearheaded by women officers and enlisted personnel led by Lt. Col. Jelyne U. Fallar, Executive Officer, Service Support Battalion (SSBn), held in front of the 4ID Administrative Building.

Highlighting the ceremony was the message of the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP), General Romeo S. Brawner Jr., addressing the attendees via video teleconference (VTC). He recognized the invaluable contributions of every individual in shaping society and reaffirmed the AFP’s commitment to gender equality and inclusivity.

“Our commitment to inclusivity is essential. We must recognize the invaluable roles people play in shaping society, regardless of background or status. Together, we can instill values that guide us toward a more progressive and unified nation. By upholding integrity, perseverance, and service, we create pathways for success—not just for ourselves but for future generations,” the CSAFP said.

Moreover, a formal kick-off ceremony was held at Montalvan Hall, 4ID, marking the beginning of the women’s month filled with impactful initiatives.

Colonel Rey P. Pasco, the Assistant Division Commander for Reservist and Retiree Affairs (ADC-RRA) of the 4ID, attended the event and delivered the message of MGen. Anayron. He emphasized the crucial role of women in the advancement of society and highlighted the 4ID’s collective commitment to promoting their rights and opportunities, particularly within its area of responsibility.

“As we commemorate Women’s Month, let us commit to creating more opportunities for women in Northern Mindanao and the Caraga Region. Let us support women-owned businesses, mentor young women, and advocate for policies that promote gender equality. By empowering women in all sectors, we can build a Bagong Pilipinas—a nation where every woman can reach her full potential and contribute to a brighter future for our region and country,” Col. Pasco said.

A variety of activities has been organized to engage, educate, and empower personnel throughout the month. One of the highlights is a Women’s Night, which aims to foster solidarity and empowerment. The celebration will conclude with a Women’s Forum and culmination activity at the end of the month.
