4ID Highlights 1st Quarter 2024 accomplishments in RTF-ELCAC 10 Meeting

The 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division highlighted its accomplishments in Northern Mindanao region during the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC) 10 1st Quarter 2024 Meeting in Cagayan de Oro City on Thursday, May 30, 2024.

Maj. Gen. Cuerpo II presented the region’s significant accomplishments since January to March of this year under the different RTF ELCAC clusters. In the Peace, Law Enforcement and Development Support (PLEDS) Cluster, the AFP units in the region initiated 235 combat operations that resulted in 17 High-Powered Firearms surrendered and one (1) High-Powered Firearm seized during the discovery of arm cache. Additionally, 29 regular CPP NPA Terrorists (CNTs) surrendered.

Likewise, a total of 12 Critical Infrastructure Investment Protection and Security Operations (CIIPSO) teams were deployed in the 403rd Brigade’s area of responsibility to ensure that the implemented government projects are protected from the CTG. Moreover, a total of 16 youth engagements, 19 school symposia, 48 pulong-pulong, and 31 radio broadcasting activities were conducted to prevent CTG recruitment.

Said activity was attended by Regional Heads or representatives of different line government agencies RTF ELCAC 10 Clusters in the region led by Major General Jose Maria R. Cuerpo II, Commander of 4ID and the Chairperson of the RTF ELCAC 10 Technical Working Group.

Maj. Gen. Cuerpo II commended the different ELCAC clusters in the region for constantly exerting efforts to sustain the campaign in maintaining peace and development in Northern Mindanao. He also expressed his appreciation to the Diamond troopers for their relentless focused military operations and the various civil-military operations which greatly contributed to its overall accomplishments for the 1st quarter of the year. Furthermore, he urged them to remain steadfast in performing their mandates to defend the communities against CTG atrocities together with the help of ELCAC-member agencies and push for the total defeat of the CTG in the region.
