IMPASUGONG, Bukidnon – The 88th Infantry “Maringal” Battalion, under the operational control of 403rd “Peacemaker” Brigade, 4th Infantry “Diamond” Division, Philippine Army encountered more or less 15 members of Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs) of Regional Sentro de Gravidad (RSDG) COMPAQ, North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC) in the hinterland area of Barangay Kulaman, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon on June 21, 2024.
The government troops skirmished with more or less 15 NPA terrorists led by @REDS that lasted for about 20 minutes of the gunfight. Troops captured one (1) body of a dead NPA terrorist, one (1) M16A1 Rifle, two (2) magazines of M16A1 including one (1) bandolier, four (4) backpacks, two (2) commercial radios, assorted medical supply, three (3) sacks of rice, and personal belongings.
In a statement, Lieutenant Colonel Eric G Dema-ala, Commanding Officer, said “This successful operation highlights the strong partnership between the Army and the local communities in their shared pursuit of peace, progress, and a better future for all. The courage and resilience displayed by the troops, along with the unwavering support of the people, have made a significant impact in the ongoing fight against the remaining CTGs and their destructive influence. Further, I encourage the people of Barangay Kulaman to be more vigilant in guarding their community and domains. Let us not give a chance for the communist-terrorists to destroy our peaceful life with their false promises and false hopes. We should exert efforts to encourage these communist-terrorists to surrender in order to live a peaceful life with their loved ones, just as we are.” Dema-ala added.
