4ID Capacitates Personnel to End Gender-Based Violence 

4th Infantry (Diamond) Division, through the Gender and Development (GAD) Branch of the Office of the Chief of Staff for Personnel, OG1, conducted a Gender-Based Violence Referral System (GBVRS) Seminar for 4ID personnel at 4ID Clubhouse, Camp Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City on June 25, 2024.

During the seminar, the Officers and Enlisted personnel of the division gained important knowledge and tools to proactively and effectively combat gender-based violence in the organization to foster a safe, responsive, and inclusive work environment.

Col. Romeo C Jimenea, Chief of the Office of the Division Provost Marshal (DPM), and Lt. Col. Roberto V Dela Cruz, the Deputy Chief of the Office of the Division Ethical Standard and Public Accountability (OESPA), delivered informative presentations. These presentations provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of how the Gender-Based Violence Referral System (GBVRS) works, how to execute the functions of the GBV Referral Network, how to prepare the proper filing of Sexual Harassment and GBV case folders, and educated them on policies, processes, and procedures of the GBVRS to effectively and comprehensively handle and address any reported gender-based cases in the unit.

Meanwhile, Maj. Daisy P Baguio, the Chief of the GAD at 4ID, shared the guidance from Lt. Gen. Roy M Galido, the Commanding General of the Philippine Army, on promoting measures and implementing the Army’s thrust to end Gender-Based Violence in the organization.

Major General Jose Maria R. Cuerpo II, Commander of 4ID, expressed that the activity exemplified the division’s commitment and dedication to preventing and eliminating gender issues and discrimination. He further emphasized the organization’s strong resolve to foster a workplace environment where everyone feels safe, valued, and empowered.
