Camp Evangelista, Cagayan de Oro City – The Inspector General of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (TIG, AFP), Lt. Gen. Steve D Crespillo, visited the Headquarters of the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division to oversee the ongoing Annual General Inspection on July 11, 2024.
Lt. Gen. Crespillo was welcomed with a Foyer Honors, led by 4ID Commander Major General Jose Maria R. Cuerpo II, along with selected Officers, Enlisted Personnel, and Civilian Human Resource at Camp Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City.
The AGI team has already started its inspection of all units and offices under 4ID, including those under its operational control, and will continue in the coming days to assess whether 4ID was able to accomplish its respective mission; ensure a high level of morale, welfare, and discipline among troops; strengthen leadership, and guarantee the effective and efficient utilization of government resources.
During his visit, the Inspector General was briefed on the division’s peace campaign, particularly its readiness condition in terms of personnel, training, logistics, and facilities; the threat situation in 4ID’s AOR; campaign progress; and the employment and implementation of the division’s best practices.
In his message, Lt. Gen. Crespillo said that the conduct of AGI would enhance the Command’s capabilities and the way it does things to be more effective. He also mentioned to see where the AFP can provide support for a more efficient and effective division. Furthermore, the findings will be used as leverage to improve the entire organization’s performance, especially now that the AFP is shifting its focus to territorial defense.
