4ID’s Gender and Development Officer recognized by LGU CDO for contributions to GAD Advocacy

Major Daisy P. Baguio, the Gender and Development Officer of the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division, was recognized by the Local Government Unit of Cagayan de Oro City for her contributions to the implementation of GAD advocacy in the city during the Bulawanong Babai Awarding Ceremony held at the City Tourism Hall on Sunday, August 25, 2024.

Hon. Rolando Uy, the City Mayor, bestowed the award to Maj. Baguio, along with other women in uniform in the city, who made significant contributions in promoting gender equality and addressing gender-related issues within their respective organizations from 2023 to 2024 through various programs and activities.

The award was in recognition of women’s exemplary excellence, distinguished creativity, and impeccable characters in their chosen fields. The LGU stated that the achievements of the awardees embody the spirit of Bulawanong Babai, serving as a true testament to the power, grace, resilience, and creativity of women who lead with excellence and integrity.

Major General Jose Maria R. Cuerpo II, Commander of 4ID, commended Maj. Baguio for her leadership in spearheading GAD initiatives aimed at increasing awareness of gender sensitivity and advocating for policies that promote gender equity. He also expressed gratitude to the LGU for the recognition, highlighting the collaborative efforts between 4ID and partner stakeholders in achieving common goals related to gender and development.
