PLGU Bukidnon launches Pilot Consultative Meeting for “Kasa sa Pagkakaisa” Program to Address Development Needs of GIDAs in Bukidnon

CAMP OSITO D BAHIAN, Malaybalay City – The Provincial Government of Bukidnon under the leadership of Hon. Rogelio Neil P Roque, Governor of Bukidnon in collaboration with 403rd Infantry Peacemaker Brigade under the leadership of Brigadier General Michele B Anayron Jr PA, Commander 403Bde and Provincial Local Government Agencies successfully conducted a pilot consultative meeting focused on the development initiatives for Geographically Isolated Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAs) at the Covered Court, Brgy. Basac, Lantapan, Bukidnon to 200 beneficiaries composed of community leaders, representatives from key sectors and heads of the households on September 10, 2024.

The consultative meeting served as a platform for open dialogue and collaboration among the participants. The discussion centered on critical issues, such as access to basic services, infrastructure development, education, healthcare, livelihood opportunities, and peace and order situations. Participants shared their experiences and insights, highlighting the pressing needs of GIDA barangays and exploring potential solutions to uplift these communities.

During the meeting, representatives from various provincial government agencies answered the questions and addressed the issues and concerns of the participants from each purok. They also presented their programs and initiatives including, 30 units of solar street lights, school buildings for IP students, water system, livelihood, and economic sustainability for FRs.

The provincial government office plans to conduct similar consultative meetings in other parts of the province to ensure that all GIDA barangays are included in the development process. The outcomes of these consultations will be used for “Kasa sa Pagkakaisa”, the Peace and Order Program of the PLGU Bukidnon to formulate comprehensive development plans tailored to the specific needs of each GIDA community.

This pilot activity marks a significant step towards achieving inclusive growth and social equity in Bukidnon. The provincial government remains committed to bring the services of the government closer to the people especially in remote areas where residents are vulnerable with the influence of Communist NPA Terrorists and its recovery efforts.
